The Garden

The Spring family were enthusiastic gardeners, as you will see from the gardening books bookcase.

The garden had however become very overgrown and we spent two years recovering it from the brambles, discovering its structure and rare plants and refreshing the planting under the guidance of our expert gardener Isobel.

The house is in the centre of the garden and looks down over the bottom lawn, ideal for garden games. To the side are the apple trees and above the house sits the old vegetable garden and greenhouse.

There are benches dotted about to allow for a cup of tea while contemplating views of the Creek and the Falmouth oyster boats working the Roads.

Steps at the bottom of the garden lead to the creek and at high tide you can pop in a canoe or paddle board and head up the Creek or, for the enthusiastic, around the headland to the Pandora Inn.

The Area

Hoopers Hill is adjacent to Mylor Harbour, full of all boating activities and blessed with the excellent Mylor Café (open during the day) and Castaways restaurant and bar (open all day and evening). Or book a cruise on Blue River Table

If you're into watersports head to Coastland. Coastland operates just around the corner from the harbour, providing sailing lessons for all abilities. They are specialists in catamarans and foiling. Coastland also offer boat storage with a private slipway to beach access and hire out their own boats & kayaks.

From the house you can walk through the harbour and around the Trefusis headland to Flushing (where you can get the ferry to Falmouth); or in the other direction to Mylor Bridge to visit the Lemon Arms, and the wonderful village shops (including a brilliant locally served butcher and fish shop).

Falmouth is a 10 minute drive with a host of shops and places to eat and modestly sized south coast sandy beaches. The larger surfing beaches are 30 mins drive away on the North coast. There are many National Trust Houses, Gardens and coastline nearby.

In summary, you will not be short of Things To Do.
