Welcome to Hooper's Hill – a wonderful house to spend an unforgettable holiday.

This information will help you make the best of your stay in this amazing house and help preserve it for many more to enjoy. The house and gardens have been retained as originally laid out by Howard Spring and family over the years. 

 

Check in / out

Check in: After 4pm                     

Check out : Before 10am

On check out please ensure the property is clean and tidy before you leave, especially the kitchen and equipment, as you found it. Please remove all food items from fridge, freezer and cupboards, take home or dispose of. All rubbish should be secured in black plastic bags and left in basement. Strip all beds and put linen into the bath with all used towels / tea towels. 

Shut / lock all doors and windows, post the keys through the letter box as you leave.

 

Smoke Free

Hooper's Hill is smoke-free. We ask that you treat the property and its contents with respect, look after the books and ornaments as if they were your own, we welcome you to read and use the contents but replace them carefully before you leave.

WiFi 

There is WiFi at Hoopers Hill – the password is on the hub box, situated in the hall.

Vehicle Access

 Current access to/from the road is on a blind corner, we recommend reducing speed to enter Hoopers Hill and a passenger to view from the other side of the road to see you out safely when leaving.

 

Grounds & Gardens 

The gardens are amazing, full of interesting flora and fauna and plenty of places to explore and enjoy, please note that the gardens are not fully fenced, care should be taken when allowing pets and children to roam freely. There is a large lawn for games and areas for BBQing and eating alfresco!  There is plenty of garden furniture and chairs to enjoy the various wonderful views.

The appointed gardener, Isobel, and her team, may be around during your stay to maintain the garden and to oversee any outside work. 

Care and attention should be given to the steep banks, uneven steps, terraces and two ponds – small children and those with mobility issues should avoid these areas. The creek beach area can be accessed at all states of the tide – consideration should be taken at all times.

 

Pets 

Please make sure your pets behave in the house and do not go on the furniture. The large utility room should be used where possible for muddy entrances, please bring your own pet towels and bedding. Please be aware the the garden is not fully enclosed and open to the creek.

Beds

There are 3 double bedrooms offering comfortable sleeping accommodation for 6 persons. In addition there are 2 sofa beds to allow for a varied combination or an extra guest, please advise the Hoopers Hill Team should you wish to use either of these beds.

 

Cots & High-Chairs 

These can be provided on request £20 per week. Please make sure you bring your own cot linen.

Rubbish & Recycling 

The Hoopers Hill Team encourage you to re-cycle and bins for this are available in the basement, please rinse out all tins, bottles etc. General rubbish is collected early on Tuesday morning, please make sure you secure it in black plastics bags and leave at the bottom of the road-side steps. The Hoopers Hill Team will sort the re-cycling as it is only collected every other week.

 

Food & Starter Packs 

Hooper's Hill will provide cleaning products for your use, toilet rolls, washing liquids for washing machine, dish-washer and hand washing up. Tea towels will also be provided.

If you would like to make an on-line order from local supermarkets to set you up for your weeks stay, please make sure you arrange for delivery after your own arrival.

Wood-Burners

There are lighting and maintenance instructions in the Guest file. Kindling and wood is available in the basement.

AGA

The kitchen AGA is pre-set to provide back-ground heat and support to the hot water and heating system.

 

Hooper's Hill provides a wonderful base to enjoy the local areas – walks, sailing, canoeing and dining are all available within Mylor Harbour. The house and grounds are steeped in history and restored now to their former glory. 

Coastland

If you wish to book some waterports activities during your stay visit Coastland or call 01326 376191. 

The Hoopers Hill Team look forward to meeting you – please let us know when you plan to arrive – earliest time will be 2pm. If you are arriving after 6pm we will arrange to leave a key in the key safe.
